Description

Dunoon fine bone china mugs are handcrafted in Staffordshire, England. They are produced to the highest quality using traditional methods which have been developed and refined over 3 family generations in the pottery industry.

This oversized mug, named after one of the greatest Glens in Scotland 'Glencoe', is one of our oldest shapes, yet remains one of our most striking. It has a great presence and our informative and educational patterns have remained the most popular designs on this shape. It has a flared top and a strong, comfortable handle so it feels very solid to hold.

'Zodiacs' are a collection by Jack Dadd of 12 wonderfully designed mugs, coloured and embellished with 22 carat gold describing the sign's astrology, dates and meanings. Aquarius, The Water-Bearer, also describes specific traits which a person born under the Aquarian starsign may exhibit.

Capacity: 0.5L

Height: 150mm

    Old style, now even better.

Years ago my wife bought me a stoneware Dunoon mug just like this for my birthday (in February, naturally). After a long life it suffered terminal chipping but couldn't be replaced at the time. Now it's back, but being about 7mm taller than the original it has required modification of my coffee machine to let it fit under the spout. Nonetheless, I'm overjoyed to have replaced a mug I love, and this edition is bone china no less! So much more comfortable to drink (and drink, and drink) from.
